Soldiers of the Regiment Private William Dunkinson Private William Dunkinson, number 19741, who served with both the 11th and 8th Battalions of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment in the First World War. Private Dunkinson is shown as being with 'C' Company of the 11th Battalion when he went overseas with them in June 1916. He was later transferred to the 8th Battalion and was taken prisoner of war. He is shown as a repatriated prisoner of war at the end of the war and his home town is shown as Darwen, Lancashire.
