Century Old Biscuit added to Collection

Amongst a number of items recently donated to the King's Own Museum related to Private John William Benham of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment is a one hundred year old biscuit!

Made by the Hindu Biscuit Company Limited, Delhi between 1908 and 1912 the biscuit is mounted on a felt covered board which was originally framed, but was damaged in the Blitz of the Second World War.

Private John William Benham, pictured right, of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  Private Benham served through out the First World War, at first with the King's Own and later with the Machine Gun Corps.
