Items Wanted for the Museum's Collection

The museum has an extensive collection of items, photographs and documents relating to the history of the Regiment and the soldiers who have served.  We are always looking for new items to add to the museum's collection and welcome new additions which are often received as a gift, although from time to time funds are available should an important item come up for sale.

We are on the look out for some items which we know existed, but we do not have examples in the museums collection.  Can you help?  May be something is hidden away at the back of a drawer which is the very thing the museum is looking for!  This is a list of some of the items we are looking for.

8th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment Lapel Badge, 1914.

This is
Corporal Leonard Williamson, of the 8th Battalion, photographed in 1914 not long after the formation of the battalion.  Due to a shortage of cap badges he is wearing a circular badge on his lapel, which states '8 KOR'.  These badges appear to have been worn in 1914 and early 1915 and then abandoned as cap badges were issued.  We've never seen one, and would love one for the museum's collection.

Copies of the Regimental Journal, The Lion and The Rose between 1905 and 1914.
Our volumes of the Regimental Journal, and we have a full set, are all bound, and sadly when they were bound the covers and also the adverts were removed.  We're on the look out for complete examples, with covers and adverts, some of which appear to have been specific to the Regiment.

Bandsman's Pouch Badge, 1st Battalion, circa 1947.
We have photographs of the band of the 1st Battalion in Trieste in 1947 and they are wearing a regimental pouch badge and we've not seen one of these, it would be great to find one!

Marching and concert by the band of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment, in a square in Trieste, 1947.
Accession Number: KO2905/080

Territorial Force War Medal
The museum has an extensive collection of medals to soldiers of the Regiment.  One we've not managed to obtain is a Territorial Force War Medal from the First World War.  Forty one were issued to the soldiers of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  It would be great to find one for our collection.
